Motor for Model Slipway Assurance
« on: February 14, 2017, 03:04:40 pm »

I have just started to build the Assurance and I am wondering if a motor that I happen to have would be suitable to power it. Unfortunately I am unable to identify the motor other than from the following markings on the case. 6350   3C4152.  It was originally bought a couple of years ago from Westbourne Models, when they were still a good shop,  to go in a Krick Sirius  but that model was never built and it has lain around ever since so it would be a shame for it to go  to waste. Any help or advice welcome before I have to spend next weeks pocket money on another motor.

Sorry couldn't say if that particular motor would be suitable but Model Slipway recommend a MFA 540-type motor geared 6:1 if the model is to be run on 12v or a MFA 540-type motor 2.5:1 if it's to be run on 6v. I'm currently building the same kit and have the 6:1 ratio motor fitted which works well.
