What goes where?
« on: March 09, 2017, 12:55:59 pm »

I've just bought one of MMB's  40mm  steerable nozzles for the Jelly Bean. Nice piece of kit, swift wipe over with the wet n' dry and it'll be ready to go.

Now, I may be daft, but I'm confused over what bit goes where...anyone offer me some guidance, please?

from memory......

the post (bit with metal ) gets epoxied onto the Kort nozzle,

the post support (top left round thing) gets drilled out to allow the Kort nozzle post past through it and then
this is fixed inside the hull

then its your choice what horn you use

Haven't got a clue Derek...that's how it came, all I'm doing is giving it a quick going over with the wet n  dry, and that will be about it.

I think what Derek means is - turn the kort nozzle round through 180 degrees so that the fatter rim faces to the rear.

No....the nozzle must not be turned, the geometry & forces on the pin would be all wrong   >>:-( the hydrodynamic forces on the pin must be trailing, not leading ........

The image below is an example of a nozzle with a tapered leading mouth......[it has a sharper mouth over the bulbous casting on the sample from the manufacturer]
