I would like to inform fellow Mayhemmers of a recent bitter Ebay shopping experience with 'Apex Models' of Crowthorne Berkshire -
because it's looking like another Westbourne Models sorry saga repeating itself -
To cut a long story short, I'd ran out of 'building materials' unobtainable locally and hurriedly resorted to Ebay to purchase goods.
Apex Models had the items in stock at a competitive price (modest £30) and 97.8% positive feedback ! my order was duly placed.
The usual Paypal email receipt instantly followed, but NO email dispatch details from Apex Models.
5 days later nothing arrived by post, I checked on Ebay and was suprised to see an estimated delivery date of a week - 10 days.
Tried emailing via Ebay to check if my order was ok, emailed Apex Models direct, telephoned the shop many times,
no response to any attempts to contact the supplier, this carried on for 3 weeks unresolved.
97.8% positive feedback on Ebay? What I should have checked was Apex Models negative feedback -
here are numerous instances of buyers sharing the same experience - placing an order, no seller communication, no goods delivered,
resorting to Ebay/Paypal obtaining a cash refund from Apex Models, which I have now done myself.
My question is WHY?
what are Apex Models hoping to achieve with this ongoing practice of taking orders, no communication,
not supplying goods - inevitably resulting in Ebay leaning on them to refund customers cash??
Can it be worth Apex Models going throught the hassle of banking my modest £30 for 2-3 weeks,
what are they thinking? what is their angle?? is something else going on???
How 97.8% positive feedback is derived from Ebay the mind boggles,
yes there are many happy smiling Apex customers - but there's lots not so happy !
Surely it's only a matter of time until negative feedback catches up with Apex Models.
I find it very sad modern times dictate our traditional model shops falling by the wayside,
resulting in the need to use online suppliers and 'don't get me wrong' there are exellent reliable suppliers,
we all know who they are, it just takes one bad apple etc.
Mayhemmers beware, I welcome your thoughts?
regards - an unhappy Zippy.
