I guess a trolley for overland has many virtues but a trolley which also launches would be better. I have seen examples on this Forum and elsewhere.

I too normally use two straps but at a lake with no deep water against a defined edge this usually demands wading into deeper water. For use in my (usually) warmer water in France I just keep a pair of plastic slip-on sandals.

However, has anyone experimented with some kind of crane with a long or extendable arm? It could be a model - even RC'd - in its own right.

Hi all
I use a fishermans tackle trolley purchased at a car boot sale for £2-00. I have also seen wheelchairs used, don't know what happen to the occupant ;D ;D ;D. (God bless the NHS)

No crocs in the waters I use! Plenty of big fish and plenty of fishermen but there is ample room for all.

The main hazard this year has been a thick, green algae bloom which looks most unpleasant and which, I guess, is not good to ingest. However, I can always find a spot where the bloom has not formed or has been blown elsewhere.

Still no reaction to my suggestion of a "launching crane".

Went to Lincoln club earlier in the summer and they have a launching crane swivels in so you can put your boat on then you swivel it out towards the water then you winch it winch it down into the water until it floats of to retrieve you just steer the boat onto the platform and winch up very simple and very effective but it doesn't take care of getting the boat to and from the pond you still need some form of trolley

I use a porter's trolley with an extension to make a sling. With the boat mounted sideways, I can just push it over the lip of the pond - but watch out for undercut banks that the wheels will catch on. It's a bit clumsy for in the car, and it has been called overkill, but it works!

Other ideas, including a crane, can be found at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=572883&page=2

Nice looking trolley russell, is it designed for float - off or lift - off model ? If it is for lift off do you not have trouble getting the arms under the hull ends, without tangling up with the pram framework,or do you use a lifting cradle/strop ? Sorry about all the questions but it looks so neat, I'm tempted to start checking out the charity shops

I just use two straps to lift her off Mike, the pushchair has foldable hand grips so you can either have them high or low so have them high and it gives you plenty of room to lift it out

and here's mine.
Not much has gone on regarding adaptation yet but it proves practical and eyecatching. The wife will throttle me when I finally get round to removing the seat and making a proper sling for the Alkhubar you can see nestling where my 2 kids once spent many a happy jog round the park.
I plan to stow launching davits and lakeside tool box on a rack below. The foot rest is currently employed to store the sla battery and as such helps prevent wheelieing the rig and resultant tearshed when tug falls out.
