Virtual Club Meetings
« on: April 06, 2020, 05:52:21 pm »

We had a virtual Model Boat Club Meeting this morning, using Zoom. I've not used it before, but it was very easy to use. It was great being able to see everyone else in their shed, and see what they are working on. I would highly recommend other Clubs try this out. Or are there other clubs already doing this?

did this on Sunday. was interesting to say the least. Zoom does have its problems, mainly getting sound to work.

We have had a few Church meetings via Zoom however last Sunday morning it was updated (to improve the security issues that have been complained about?) just before we were due to start which needed a new login that had to be emailed to everyone.

We have MS teams, Skype and a computer telephony system at work called jabber. My external contacts use zoom, and it seems to work better. Probably why it's come under scrutiny recently  because it seems to work better, clearer and easier, no doubt Microsoft are complaining folk are using it!

Skype for me is like hands free in cars (which I think should be banned). Just lots of people sitting round a computer saying "hello", "can you hear me", "didn't make that out, can you say again".

I have skyped my cousin in UK.
Usually the only problem these days is that it needs to be constantly updated which is a pain.  >>:-(
