Hello All, Doe's anybody out there have an H F M Harvey Middleton sailing barge! and if so, can you remember how much ballast you put in it. Hopeing to hear. {:-{

If I remember correctly it used one of the HFM 590 bulb keels, removable of course! If I am right it had a steel bar within it which was about 25mm diameter and about 100mm long, this was roughly 125mm below the hull, on a 590 that is. I assume the same applied to the barge.
Await some better answers, I am trying to remember something I had 25 years ago!!

Hi

I seem to recall that I used an old diving wight, can not for the life of me  remember if it was the full or just some of it, but I do remember that I had to enlarge the rudder to make it work

When I built a " James Piper " Sailing Barge I made 3 removable Keels of different weights for different strengths of wind.
