I am considering purchasing the ex Speedline hull and superstructure mouldings for the 1/12 scale SEVERN CLASS lifeboat as seen on eBay. I have searched the forum for advice on how to power the model but have been confused by the many different suggestions.  I am looking to use electric motors and will be able to purchase all the motors and ESCs’ either brushed or brushless as I don’t have any in my possession at the moment. Any advice would be most welcome.

I finished off one of these for a third party last year and it had 2 500Kv brushless with 80amp Hobbyking esc's powered by 2 4s lipo's wired in parallel.  Also used scale 5 bladed props.  Initially thought 500kv would not be enough but was I mistaken. The performance was incredible, in fact I only had to go to 60% on the throttle's.
