I require a micro torch for brazing. I have a big torch, so this will be for running repairs and small items made on a bench. Whats the best. Not bothered if cartridge or refillable. Just need it to be reliable

Kunk........you will find a wealth of information by searching in our files..............
That little BenZomatic as marketed in Australia has a 3 year replacement warranty................2 of the slightly cheaper versions just start spitting flame after about 12 months & the warranty expired......Proxxon do one......I am sure it is OK, but again the warranty is 12 months

Agreed with Nemisis, bog standard chefs one from your local cookshop and a can of Swan fag-lighter gas (Other brands are available!). The only problem I've had over 10+ years is the piezo lighter bit failed but a disposable lighter works for me.

I have a couple of the gas soldering iron/ heat gun/ torch from lidl, does most things, then step up to a small oxy propane unit that uses small (about 14" tall) gas bottles,

Hi Pete, for brazing I use an Arctic Vortex torch screwed to a map gas bottle.
