need a little help from fellow lifeboat builders, as i put the last effort into my tyne class lifeboat ive come across a problem of having to make the white number stickers along each side, in my case 47 - 006 , im making them my self but need a tracing of the port side one, can any one help out by tracing one out for me, i have tried drawing one out but ofcourse its just not looking the same as the starboard one from the plan....

Hi Trucker,
you mean just the outlines?

I could try, if you send me a scan of the 47-006 so that I have the outher shape, then I would use this an try to rescale the Numbers. Ni Idea if that works, but worth a try .... and I later will need something similart too.

Trucker
I don't understand your problem. The individual figures will be the same whichever side they are applied to. All you will have to do is attach them in the correct sequence.

Ah that's where you are incorrect, Barrie, if you look at the numbers they tapper from the bow towards the stern, this enables the numbers to fit in between the spray bar and rubber strip around the boat.

I'm not sure about that, it can be an optical illusion.  On some photos they really look almost the same size. On other there's a strong increase towards the bow, which I first thought was on the earlier days. But when I look at all the photos I have downloaded, I would say it's same height for all.

I think I'll make a set with same height , print it on paper and stick it to the hull tonight, then do a few photos from different views.

On the side view, as the plane is, only the starting numbers hull wall is somewhat parallel to the view, then the lower part get's further away.  So the letters got tilted a bit wich makes them smaller in hight.

(I hope it's somehow understandable)

I tend to agree Joerg. Checking photos on the internet, only one looks as though it could have graduated number. Mostly they seem to be aligned just under the rubbing strip and all the same size.
I couldn't find 47-006, but several others - in fact there was no consistency in placement of the numbers.
Its your model Trucker so you should do as you think is right.

Hi,I've made a fast number (was  abit busy at work today), all numbers of same height and width!
Even though it's probably not sticked to the exact place and the hull has not exact the shape it should have one can see the effect I meant above.
