VIC32 Inverness 3.9.2022 photos
« on: September 03, 2022, 05:51:24 pm »

Hello folks,

I saw VIC32 was due in town this weekend so I arranged to meet up with a friend this afternoon and we went up to go see her in Muirtown basisin.

Unfortunately I got mixed up and thought she was on an "open day" -I was looking at the 2023 calendar!  We managed to catch the Chief Engineer who chatted to us for some time on the jetty.  They had to cancel this years open day due to covid restrictions unfortunately but I managed to take a few dozen photos for anyone interested.  Unfortunately there wasn't much room to step back so the photos are all a bit close quarters!  Hopefully these show up quite large so you can see some of the details.

Thanks again to the Chief Engineer for a few mins. chatting between domestic chores and allowing us to take a few pics.

Hi, sorry I can't sort out the random pics that are stretched and rotated.  It's the forum bug again.  Last few coming, the collage didn't turn out too good as everything was so close but you get the idea...

( Turned them around for you Rich! - Martin )   :-))

Also in the basin walking back worth a mention in case anyone is interested...

I thought I'd remembered the name of the white cruiser but apparently not.  She's been there a while.  First time I saw here I thought she was one of the berwick Boats, but she's not.

Hope the photos are of some use,

Rich

Hi, Sorry you felt you needed to do that Martin.  I didn't realise it was so wrong to include those other pics in the same thread (what was wrong with them so I know not to do the same again)?????  I did ask for the thread to be moved to Steam R&D and for it to be made a sticky but neither happened -just a couple of boats cobbled on the end seemed to have resulted in a strange re-naming part-way through the thread?.Rich

Whatever this thread is titled, and even before seeing the Scotia W's name and how similar to mine it is,  :} I like the looks of that boat.

On Vic 32, even though heights and I don't often play well together, I'd really want to climb the ratlines just to have accomplished that.

Played in Google and from the "About us" page it looks like Scotia W plays both the role of a bed and breakfast and a charter vessel,

Scotia W has been designed and furnished to provide the quality and comfort of a small hotel. Measuring 80ft in length and retaining the charm and beauty of her original construction, our vessel provides spacious accommodation on Scotland’s waterways. Facilities on board cater for up to eight guests in four twin en-suite cabins. The vessel boasts a large and comfortable lounge and adjoining dining area, which are ideal for relaxing in and offer excellent views. The extensive outdoor deck space has been designed to enhance your onboard experience and provides a perfect vantage point from which to enjoy the Scottish scenery or watch all kinds of wildlife in their natural habitat. The large wheelhouse has been carefully planned to allow you to experience life at the vessel’s helm.

Converted from a traditional Scottish fishing boat, Scotia W is a beautifully crafted trawler yacht which provides an ideal location from which to explore Scotland.

The vessel is also available for private charter, she caters for up to eight guests in comfort and our crew provide a friendly, personalised service. Ideally suited for group or individual bookings alike, your stay can be tailored to your requirements, ensuring that your time aboard the Scotia W is a truly memorable experience.
