Thanks Ray,
The hinges have been fitted to one of the doors, they look a bit over size, but they need to be to take the amount of work they will do.

Now just got to figure out how to get them working. The bottom half will have to open first then the top section. The top sections easy as the Mission bay crane will be used to open it.

Hi All,

Been looking at the best internal hinges for the mission bay main door. I’ve narrowed my choices to these three.

The issue I’m having to work out is I need for when the door is closed for the door to be flush with the S/S side 🤦‍♂️

Well over the last few days I’ve been testing which hinges would work for the Mission Bay doors.

The three hinges that I purchased just did not work, so I’ve resorted to making my own.

Pic 1 is the master made from 1x1 mm brass

Pic 2 The mould

Pic 3 The casting

Pic 4 Hing fitted to the door.

At last BAE have finally fitted the large ScotDome platforms.

I was getting worried that they had changed the design and this would require me to remove these parts that I’d already built.

Update,

I should have known that making the safety nets from 0.7 x0.7 plastic square would not be strong enough, so I’ve started to remake them (all 38) using 0.7 x0.7 brass square.

Hi Chris,

Nice to hear from you hope you and Jen are all good.

Doors we are still trying to workout the electronic controls.

I’ve once again had to park this build as detail have dried up, it looks now that HMS Glasgow will not be doing sea trails until 2026. At this time we are hopping there will be a lot of pic etc published.
