Obviously it will involve work to the fibreglass hull including filling in the deck where the outboard well is and forming access for the motor and Z-drive but why not?

Amongst my Fairey builds I fancied doing something different and so I'm building a Huntress with a stern-drive which Fairey never put into production. Problem for me building at 1:12 and so only 23" long was finding a drive small enough. Found one in the end at Bauer-Modelle which is black plastic. They do a bigger one as well. Don't know if they are posting from Germany though now?

There are some nice metal ones around as well, though expensive, and they are too big for my needs.

Thanks Chris, will be in touch with Uwe Bauer with boat dimension tomorrow, he was very helpful before. Seems they do ship UK now via courier. Just trying to find any additional  UK cost?

Yes, I found him very helpful as well. I didn't know how to do the steering and he sent me some photos of an installation. In the end though I decided to fit the servo in the cabin area and use snakes. Obviously you can't go too far forward because of the seating area but your model does have more beam than mine so there are possibilities there.

Progress had stopped on mine though I did get the hull painted last December and have recently started on it again so it shouldn't be too long before fitting the stern-drive and servo etc. Water ingress can be a problem (as I found out during a bath test!) so am going to get some thin rubber sheet to make a gasket out of.

Good that they are shipping. I fancy building a model with a water-jet at some point.

I fitted a Z drive like that into one of those plastic, bat winged hulls, 3900kv brushless motor from a buggy….went like the clappers in a straight line, spun out and flipped on a regular basis in a turn….all because the thrust in a turn lifts the stern and buries the bow.
Just something to watch out for with deep vee hulls!
