m/s Smyril
« on: April 13, 2023, 10:42:09 am »

Hello!
Finally got a chance to test my Faero ferry Smyril. Those of you who followed her earlier life knows that she started out as Queen Mary II, and then transformed into a fictional cruise liner and later a ropax ferry.
Now she lives her fourth career as the Smyril, an inter island ferry from the Faero islands.
All the best!

Hello Hama, it's good to see her out on the water and you can be proud of your achievement - well done!

Aye,
Ray.

Not that I saw the real Smyril, but your model soo looks realistic. Well shot pictures, too! It's like spotting the real ship. I admire your skill!

Thanks for your kind words! I'm not that talented though, but I like my boats and see them as a representation of the real thing rather than a true copy. Others do that much better.
More pictures will follow!

Inspired by photos and videos of the real vessel I took some more pictures. Not completely satisfied so I might post some more later.
Hope you enjoy!

Some more pictures. I had my doubts about the stability on this little boat, I thought she felt a bit weak on first trials. I was again proven wrong, she handles perfectly and very safe. I put a small strip of insulation tape on the gap between forecastle and superstructure to keep the water out.
Hope you enjoy!

Very nice. She handels the rough water well.

I spotted these pics the other day and wanted to return for another look through. Whoa my heart would be in my mouth on water like that. You've built another truly superb model Hama.  O0
