Mountfleet Sir Lancelot Paint Job
« on: June 19, 2023, 08:47:10 pm »

Has anyone built and painted Mountfleet Models Sir Lancelot without weathering it? I am looking to purchase the kit for my next build and have only seen photos of the vessel weathered. I have tried on numerous occasion to weather models only to have them look rather garish. The Sir Lancelot does look very appealing when weathered. Would be in interested in seeing photos of it not weathered before I purchase the kit. Thank-you

Overall, such a ship would probably be dark grey if operating in N. Atlantic area, with or with a black funnel top. if in the med the grey would be lighter in shade, probably. It all depended on what was available in the paint locker and the whims of the "jimmy" or CO. Underwater probably anti fouling with black boot topping. LB

I think that wins the prize for the smallest font.   :o

PS I get these random oddities as well.

Something to do with cutting and pasting from word i suspect. I gave up after a bit and investigated why my fuel guage wasn't working the XJS instead.
