Hello!
Took my North Sea ferry Svea for a sail this weekend. Of my three 1:200 ferry models, this one was a bit untested in severe weather conditions. The other two, Smyril and Visby, has proved to be very stable and maneuverable in strong wind and high seas. The Svea is a bit different. She has a sleeker hull than Visby, and a bigger superstructure than Smyril. But the biggest difference to the other two is that she has a single rudder, making her much less maneuverable and more affected by wind. When strong wind hits her broadside, she has great difficulties to turn up or down wind even with the help of bowthruster and propellers.
Hope you enjoy some pictures.
All the best!
