Engel K-317 Panter
« on: May 01, 2024, 09:30:45 am »

I have just started build of the Engel K-317 Panter submarine following some lengthy reviews of various kits. Can anyone point me in the direction of any build logs or have any advice or tips regarding the kit. Bit of a chequered start on this one as Engel sent me the wrong piston tanks and some parts were missing however their support was great and they provided the correct materials within a few days...

Hi. Engel kits are very good but more complicated then other makes. Make sure you test the cylinders and your wiring before fitting inside the hull. One thing to make very sure of is the position of the cylinders. They must be inline with each other and the correct distance apart so that the balance and trim of the submarine is correct. I use swim noodles cut up to line the hull and position the cylinders.
