Water cooled Shark ESC
« on: May 17, 2024, 08:45:50 am »

Quick question. Is it better to mount it with the water in/out ports at the top or the bottom?

Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Gordon

I think you maybe questioning this to avoid the possibility of an air lock.  I think it won't really matter as the water path within the ESC is through a pipe so water will just flow through and drive out any air.

Depending on the final orientation of the ESC, in an ideal world I'd generally choose the lower pipe as the inlet, higher pipe as the outlet, this has best chance of filling any internal spaces with water.

Hope that helps.
David.

Very useful, thank you.

Incidentally does everyone have to go through all the fuss and palaver just to make a post? Makes one not want to bother.

Hi Gordon

No problem, happy to help.  And I think you have to do a small number of posts, can't recall how many before the system 'trusts' you.  Then it's very straightforward.  Maybe 10 posts..?

What are you building..?
