Nivara sailboat refurbishment
« on: May 20, 2024, 08:58:41 pm »

This was a sailboat I picked up from the local model boat club last year and refurbished it and hopefully made it look and sail a lot better than it did. Large anodized turbuckles for rc cars, and large metal swivel links were all thrown and replaced with much nicer ones. Hopefully the pics do justice.

After a couple of days sailing the tape that was holding the sails together failed.. shame as they were a nice set of sails.

Some new ones made from drafting paper and red gaffer tape. Along with some eyelets which where punched into the sails so they aren't going anywhere.

Before anyone says the colours were chosen by my then 7 year old son, not really my choice, but show a kid the colour sprays in Halfords an say pick a colour, then this is what you get haha.
