Anfora Brenda Outreach
« on: September 11, 2024, 09:27:34 pm »

I'm a Brit living in Long Beach, US. I recently purchased a completed vintage sport runabout, a 1/7 scale model of a 1952 launch by Anfora, Barcelona, Spain, with a very British-sounding name "Brenda". However, she has quickly become her own mystery. My fruitless hours on the internet searching for replacement parts and any blog info have surprisingly turned up no useful leads. That is until I recently located a fellow "Brenda" owner through MBM. Kevin is a Brit, too, aka Captinsmurf, living in Berkshire, UK, who got his own partly finished "Brenda" in 2016. He posted on MBM on July 21, 2016, when searching for a suitable motor and I happened upon that particular post. Kevin found no information at all on running gear in the CD that came with the boat, and not one of the posts, though all were helpful, was a direct hit. This was becoming an international issue! There had to be other "Brenda" owners out there who were struggling with the same problems. Surely. Kevin's version is almost ready to launch while mine is some time away. Was the original model for display only? Was it intended only for the Spanish market? Might the boat have been reborn as a Riva Aquarama by Amati? We can't find definitive info. either way. Not helping, Anfora seems to have gone out of business. Why, and was the company bought? By whom? If anyone can help that would be excellent. All the best,
Kevin and Rob

Hi
A picture of the boat and size would be of great help.

Hi Canabus Thanks for your interest. I tried repeatedly to upload pics, but the site would not save the draft I created. Very frustrating. Rob PS 100cms length. This whole exercise is frustrating. Close to dropping it!

Hi Rob

A 3542-1450kv brushless motor, 37mm 3blade prop or 40mm 2blade prop, 60/100 Amp ESC which would handle up to 4S lipo battery(5000mah 40C).

Depends on what speed you require 3S or 4S battery.

The kv of the motor is the number of rpm per volt.
So the 1450kv on 3s=16095 rpm and on 4S=21480 rpm( free running).
