Blackpool Model Show 2025
« on: December 15, 2024, 08:45:06 pm »

BLACKPOOL SHOW---Model Lifeboat stand.

It is with excitement but also trepidation that WE announce that next year I and fellow modeller and friend Ian Fothergill, a superb builder of model lifeboats will be  organising the model lifeboat stand at the Blackpool Norbreck Castle Model show, next year, 2025.

It is a new venture for us both and we wish to follow and yet improve your stand within the large and very successful show with a new outlook.

We will of course be booking your space for the stand as soon as is required and hope to experiment with one or two new features to the stand as points of interest for both the lifeboat modellers and general public in order to give viewers to your stand a pleasant and interesting day at the show.

If anyone has any ideas as to how we can add to your visual display then please send either Ian or myself a message as to what you would like to see on the stand and we will try our best to fulfill those wishes within reason.

Thank you for your unfailing support in the past and hope we can improve on the stand for your enjoyment in the future.

Hope to see you all there next year, and have a safe and pleasant Christmas and New Year.

Best wishes, Ian and Neil

I believe that the date for the 2025 show has been changed to the 15/16th of November. Is this correct? This is the weekend after the IPMS show at Telford.

yes it is correct this is due to a double booking on the venues side, so Iain had no choice to change the date

Hi Iain
Looking forward to the weekend.

Couple of questions, where is the Bring N Buy located this year ?

And when you buy your ticket online is there a separate table , queue in the entrance area or do you have to join the pay on the door queue ?.

Thanks
Larry

I presume that if you have already paid and can show evidence you just show that to the person manning the door.

But its all go, with some incredible models on show..........theres some nice model boats to look at too.....such divercity and getting stronger.

And the good part for next year, it was anounce to all those setting up........it will be in September next year hopefully with warmer nicer weather.

see you all there on the LBES STAND next to the sailing pool.

Someone told me around the 11tn/12th or 12/13th, but not having a callender handy it coincides with the 2nd weekend in september, and that is officiat i was led to believe as the weather is usually better, although there was a good croud today until about 15.30 when it all slowed down, but that is usual anyway.

Thanks but that’s a bit of a nightmare
Since it clashes with a weekend show in Scotland already booked in.

Did someone take some photos and would like to post them here for people like me who were not able to attend the show? That would be most welcome O0

was talking to the gent on the stand about the Wellington bomber. apparently the fuselage and wing struts were made from unbreller wire and other thinner wire that he tried to explain to me but i didn't quite understand........but to see it in the "flesh" was just incredible. all put together with solder and super glue.

Barnes Wallis would have beamed at that. Easy to understand why it was so tough to down.
