Question for the USS Missouri “officianados” please - did the 5” gun barrels elevate & “train” as a pair or are they singly elevated (before I glue the wrong bits together on my Trumpeter 1/200 version)?

Thanks - Bruce

I get the impression that they are elevated and trained as a pair.
Book, Naval Weapons of WWII, by John Campbell, doesn't seem to indicate separate mechanical for independent operation in a pair.

That’s great Umi - thank you, the video certainly seems to show a paired elevation

Cheers - Bruce

Umi is correct that under normal circumstances, both barrels within a turret would normally elevate together. However they were capable of operating singularly. They were mount on separate cradles, see the twin 5' practice machine. In your case, they should be considered one singular unit.
