Dundee anniversary open day

Sunday May 4th the Dundee club is holding an open day to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the club. The event is from 11am to 4pm and we are hoping to have at least 140 models on with as many on the water as possible. We arre hoping to have visitors from other Scottish clubs bringing their boats to add to the numbers.

Much to my surprise I saw a snippet on the news tonight but I can't remember whether bbc scotland or stv.   Well done getting over two hundred boats on the water.

It was on STV, took a lot of work setting out the docks then mooring the boats. There was an enclosed dock for the smaller boats that couldn't be fitted with a mooring line. The turn out from the Dundee club and other Scottish clubs was great with many bringing a large number of boats. There was around a total of 240 plus models with some jsu free sailing and others on static display only. The clear away at the end was also a lot of work getting boats out of the pond so the organisers and helpers have to be praised.The photos were taken before the official start time so there were still quite a few boats to arrive.Jim

  Well done guys that's a superb turn out of model boats and it looks like the weather was kind to you. Great job by the organisers.
