cheddar models boiler
« on: July 25, 2025, 06:04:33 pm »

HI I have a what i think is a cheddar mark 1 boiler ,the one that has the poker burner , couple of things dose anyone have the boiler diagram i have 1 for the later version, also it dose not have a water gauge fitted and would like to fit one i would assume the bush at the side of the fire hole and the one on top of the boiler slightly offset from the centre are the connections i could use, also would the brass extension tubes be available or would i have to make them myself i would get the actual water gauge from Gerry at  Clevedon steam ,also is there a ceramic burner that would fit instead of the Sievert type burner ,sorry its a bit long ,regards Allan,

Hello Pipercub !
Phil is right , there is so many types of Cheddar boilers. Some are even stamped Stuart ! They are very efficients boilers.
The Mark one is a (if not wrong) small vertical boiler .
Gerry is the one to talk too and he will most probably recommend a (kind of) ceramic burner.

I would NOT use a Sievert (good for torch and eventually large horizontal boilers ) for your boiler as you don't know what size jet is in it .

Have a look at this post , if it can help :
