Advice for a scratch build...
« on: November 25, 2007, 08:10:19 pm »

Hi all,

I've just stumbled across your forum whilst looking for some info on scratch builds...

I know nothing about model boats, but do play with real ones on nearly a daily basis, model wise i normally use cars/trucks and have dabbled in heli's a bit...

I had 3 boats at the moment but they are all rtr stuff...

A few years ago i bought a hull which is a aquastar 46 ( i think) which is a workboat normally used as a potter, and i feel it's now time to build it up and make it r/c...

The size of the hull is around 2 foot x 10 inches ish...

Can anyone recommend where i should look for parts (props/shafts ect ect) and also what i should be looking to fit...

At the moment i am thinking of fitting electric but it will need quite a bit of reduction as the hull speed should be pretty slow - but not ruling out ic as an option...

Cheers guys..
