help - hull stabilising strake.

i have just started to build a 1/96th scale model of a type 22 frigate. i need some suggestions on how i could make the hull stabilising strakes. does anyone have any suggestions they could give me please?

Just a bit confused here. What are you calling a "stabilizing strake"? Not a term I am familiar with.

I was wondering if the reference was to the large strap that was fitted to the outside of the hull on top of the sheerstrake. I always thought it was to add longitudinal strength.

are you maybe getting mixed up with a type 42 batch 3 destroyer
that has a strenthener fixed at about deck level runing about 3/4
the length of the ship. The Type 22 does not have these

Hi Dan
I am pretty sure you are talking about the bilge keels. On my Type 22 I cut a slot with a cutting disc and epoxied an aluminium plate into the slot. Then I put P38 around the plate and sanded it to the wedge shape. This takes quite a few goes.
