extinct sewn boats of East Africa

I urgently need pictures, descriptions and/or construction details of the now extinct sewn boats 'mtepe' and 'dau la mtepe' that were once made in East Africa (specifically the Lamu region).  Can anyone please help?  I know this is an unusual request but one of my interests is the construction of models of ethnic craft of the Western Indian Ocean.

Regards.

You could contact the Zanzibar museum

There is also a book by Mr Prins
