Could it be that in densely populated areas the value of the individual decreases reciprocally to the congestion of individuals?

It is often reported by first aid professionals that your chances of receiving first aid by a passerby on a desolate road are much higher than in a crowded street.

Sadly, such things don't only happen in China.
Fallen states and districts where anarchy took over are other examples for seemingly lost empathy

After a heavy landing in Corfu at night while waiting to disembark one of the flight crew came down from the cockpit to talk to the passengers,
as he was talking to one of our party I asked him whether that was an ordinary landing or a normal one for Corfu.
His reply was "every landing that I walk away from is a good un".

Probably a bit more than a half hour turn around, but still a good landing.  Smoother than some I've had, but then, lacking wheels, the driver was probably concentrating more.

Man crushed by garden model train at his Wilmcote home

A man has been airlifted to hospital after being crushed and trapped by a model train in his back garden.

The man, in his 70s, was thought to have been sitting on the large-scale locomotive when it left the rails and came off a garden wall.

He was trapped for almost 30 minutes as ambulance crews and firefighters tried to free him at his home in Wilmcote in Warwickshire, paramedics said.

He suffered abdominal and pelvic injuries, they added.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "He was given pain relief and immobilised by ambulance crews with the use of a splint, neck collar and spinal board, before being airlifted to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire."

That's done it, the 'Health and Safety' brigade will be out with the 'Nanny Police' tomorrow telling us we can't have model railways now...  Hope he's ok though and makes a speedy recovery, Dave.

Wikipedia off-line today     -     http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SOPA_initiative/Learn_more

Why is Wikipedia blacked-out?

Wikipedia is protesting against SOPA and PIPA by blacking out the English Wikipedia for 24 hours, beginning at midnight January 18, Eastern Time. Readers who come to English Wikipedia during the blackout will not be able to read the encyclopedia: instead, you will see messages intended to raise awareness about SOPA and PIPA, and encouraging you to share your views with your elected representatives, and via social media.

To be honest I don't think this is a good idea at all simply as WHO is going to pay for the restoration of the hull,as surely it will need specialist treatment as soon as it hits fresh air and will cost Thousands to do so.At the end of the day WHO is going to foot the bill.....YES us the Taxpayers oh Brill

Came across this while reading about the Wikipedia Blackout..

"Symantec's on-going saga over whether a hacking group had acquired current source code to several of its products took a strange twist. Previously, the company had claimed the hackers had the source code to enterprise versions of its security products and that it had been stolen from a third-party server. This week, the company acknowledged unknown adversaries had breached its network in 2006 and stolen source code to its Norton line of security products.
Security experts expressed concern at the fact that the company had been unaware of the breach for so long.

"How could Symantec have gotten hacked? Don't they use AV?" Apple hacker Charlie Miller joked on Twitter."

I don't think there is much, if any hull left Dave. The report that I saw said that they just intend to bring up the cannon, artifacts and hopefully some treasure that will cover the salvage company's costs. The other stuff is destined to be distribituted to maritime museums around the UK - well, that seems to be the idea anyway.

Thanks catengineman, we found out at 23:55 last night after her friends mother saw it in the paper. Poor old Dad then had to go and find a petrol station that still had a copy before they were sent back %)

You would be able to get a copy from the papers office and if you tell them your the father they (used to) give the paper to you and also a page print of the item.
Daughter had one when she was at school (now 34) bet she hits me for telling her age  :((
