Love the comment "they were very accomodating" when removing furniture and increasing ventillation!  I must remember that next time I check-in to the premier inn -you don't mind if I do a bit of woodwork on the desk and some celly painting do you?  I won't use power tools or an air compressor after eleven -promise!

....As much as I love the guys admitting to be normal hobbyists I find their modeling stories and ease of materials quite hilarious and rediculus!  Inspirational, yet a little bit of fantasy at the same time.

to be honest, I was flooded out the house a few years back, moved into a Premier inn for about 5months and built a model or 2 in the room.... the cleaning girls gave me a spare couple of bins  :-))

Mr Trump's VH60 White Hawk helicopters and his 3 Chinook support helicopters have just spent the last 20 mins flying circuits over my house......
A UH72 Lakota was sitting in the distance monitoring everything....

Interesting...

Just hypothetically, how does the US Military get Mr T's VH60 White Hawk helicopters and his 3 Chinook support helicopters say from  the US to the UK ...in preparation for a Presidential visit?

They couldn't rock hop [not too many refuelling islands in the mid Atlantic],........a US Aircraft Carrier would take 5 to 6 days

So does the US hire a Ukraine's Antonov Companies AN-225 aircraft for the purpose?........that would be a novel Diplomatic arrangement  {-)

These same Antonov giants are used to bring the Sikorsky Sky Cranes from their base in the US to OZ when we have a bush fire emergency.....

Derek

PS....I used the word Military, as are these helicopters not a Marine Corps Division of US Military?..[as distinct from Army, Navy, Airforce, Coast Guard or the newer Military Group covered by Space Agency?]

They can jam the UH60s in a C5 Galaxy (maybe a C17 too, not sure?) The Chinooks may well be ours..

Ahah.....yes thanks UBN..you were certainly on the money $.......Google confirmed ......

'White Hawk". . Marine One is transported via C-17 Globemaster or C-5 Galaxy'

So the extra long Presidential Cadillac that pivoted on an Embassy driveway {-)  could be accommodated too

Derek

PS...I didn't really think it would have been a good idea to sub-let the travel arrangements to the Ruskies :-X

Yes - I understand the 2x VH50s and the smaller UH72 helicopters are all transportable - I couldn't see the markings on the Chinooks because the light was failing - they may well be ours.

A Chinook fits inside a C-5 Galaxy without too many problems, they just need to remove the rotors.

The aircraft carrier does not move his transport around the world, but somewhere off our coast a U.S. Battlegroup will just happen to be slowly passing by.

Funnily enough, increasing prosperity does tend to lead to a reduction in the birth rate as has happened in China. May be too little, too late though as you say.

I remember when it was the Gleneagles G7 summit and it was 5 trips by C5 Galaxy’s to get the
Presidents equipment over to prestwick
And they took over a big hanger to reassemble the aircraft and equipment

Just been found in the ice cold waters of the South Atlantic, the wreck of the German Armoured Cruiser SMS Scharnhorst has been discovered after a five year search.

The wooden decks look amazing, the ROV photos are stunning showing some great detail of Von Spees flagship. It pinged up on my newsfeed this morning and couldn’t believe it, I thought they had been found before but my memory must have been playing tricks on me!
I’m going to guess that they will eventually find her sister ship and the other cruisers over the next few months now they’ve found the battle site.

A fantastic find. The story of the sea battle, and the run up to the battle are also interesting ones. It is also an important part of the local history that is still taught to, and by, locals. There was a lot of important names in naval history (on both sides) connected to WW1 in the South Atlantic.
