Leopard brushless
« on: October 13, 2011, 10:23:31 am »

Hi,
I have a choice of two leopard 5692 brushless motors,
one is 790 kv the other is 1090kv.
This motor will be fitted into a 46"Fairey Huntsman, wooden build boat.
The question is which is the right one? and if so why?
Many Thanks

Oooo! Good question!  What physical size are the motors?

we have tried a few motors in a Veron Huntsman 28 42" you will probably find the lower KV motor is a bit better but both will work , we used a 1300kv and I think he has a 700ish kv in now both where outrunner's and we run them geared with a belt drive around 2-1 have a look at his re ferb on hear

A member of my club (and Mayhem) has a similar boat with a 900kv outrunner. No gearing. Not sure the voltage, but I think it is on 7.4v. Goes very well.
