Thanks a lot. My new Proxxon will hopefully live longer than the old one.

After a week holidays in the Dolomites (Italy) I'm back at work.

Hi Danielle,
I just started reading your building blog of the Nuova Loredana. Incredible, this is model boat building at it's best.

I am looking forward to your next posts.

Thanks a lot you two!!!!!  :-))

Working on the doors and openings as fast as I can .... maybe I will find very small hinges so that all openings to the left and right can be opened.

Opening to the fish bunker ...

After sanding it to shape ....

All doors and covers I made today...

The heavy door to a smaller cold storage room for fish .... actually it may weight up to 100g when finished ...

You can make the hinges from thin brass tube, rod and brass sheet. The fewer 'knuckles' you have in the barrel of your hinge, the easier they are to make, but three - five knuckle hinges can be made if you are accurate with your filing:o)

Excellent work so far Danielle. I love the refrigerator door!

Thanks a lot!!!  :-))

I did find some small hinges in my hobby store .... not shure if they will work. We'll see next week.

PS: if they do not work as wished I will make them myself!

The triangle ones look more like bulkhead hinges, but might need filing straighter, as though they  were welded to the bulkhead

I see what you are doing now! I saw your brackets pictured yesterday and wondered if you were going to use hinges assuming the brackets were infact hinges part built! Brillinant work.

Such a pity a lot of the detail will be hidden, only close inspection will reveal the true quality

Sadly its true ... I wont put in too many details in front of the deck. There will be a nice netwinch. At the rear I may add more details in the next weeks.

Those doors really look the part. I love the look of the hull now you are getting the superstructure underway, it is starting to look brilliant.

That's a clever idea, one that I shall adapt in my future scratchbuilds. O0

Tomorrow I may start with the "handlebar" at the back ...

This is what we would refer to as the "gantry". :-))

Ray.

Thanks a lot!!!!!  :-))

Instead of building the gantry I did some detailing on deck.

First my building plan as usual ... all measurement have been taken directly from the model ...  ok2

All parts are built and nearly finished. As you can see I also glued the window hatches in place.

The color could dry in the lunchbreak. Afterwards I could glue everything in place.

When I was finished I looked at my drawing and WoW!!! I forgot the sorting table!!!!! Ok built that in 20mins with some 1mm plywood and pained it with silver color.

I see what the funny shaped hinges are for now, seeing the door in place now explains them! It is good to see your workings out! By the way, did you try and emulate what Ken did but on one of your fingers Danielle? Look after yourself.
