you  certainly are a trooper Stavros. Without shows like this, people would be missing out on much and revert back to being in the dark about much that goes on.

My admiration goes out to you and others who organise such shows. I look forward to Blackpool this coming year and make a point of shaking your hand personally.

Well done on behalf of the hobby and hope it all goes very well.

This is our first ever show with the boats, probably lots to learn just hoping we gets the boats there undamaged :-). When they are set up on the tables and sorted ill be happy. Then enjoyment of the show can begin.
Take care all see you at the show.

Excellent show. Well signposted from the M42.

Loads of trade. Hundreds of boats. Great, and reasonably priced, food in the cafe.

If you live within a days drive and like model boats, get there on Sunday!

I have to agree with the above comments.  This was the first show that I have ever attended and it was great.  Lots of boats to see, nice people to meet and lots of advice too.  It was nice to put faces to names and it was well organised and very busy at times also!  I met with Tony Green who gave me some great advise about my next build and has even offered to make some custom bits for me  :-))   Thanks Stavros and Iain for a nice day.

My first time to Coalville , it's nice to see model's not seen before , my preference is the unusual.
A very nice Wallace & Grommit steam paddler . . .

Had a Model Boat Mayhem plaque next to it .

The detail is outstanding . . .

and. . .

That pesky penguin get's everywhere . .

A tremendously detailed H M S Fearless (floating dock ship) . . .

The transporter/launch arrangement is well thought out , took 6 years to build, has 17KG of ballast !

The stern . . .

Don't know if the landing craft are on remote (wouldn't put it past him !)

The bows . . .

All the lockers etc had the correct items in them.

The crew . . .

Hard at it , even the paint brushes had the right colours on them .

An interesting Hydrofoil . . .

By the size of it you'd need a big lake to get up on the foils.

The stern arrangement . . .

I hope it's not just a static model .

The bring & buy was well stocked with reasonable stuff , plenty of variety too. The clubs were giving a good show too, a real diversity of models on display , well done.
Had a word with Dave(stavros) contrary to opinion's he hadn't dropped his wallet on his fingers ,it was a lorry door  O0  felt painful just looking at the damage . . .

Well what a Weekend it was.......It started to go slightly wrong for Me on thursday morning when I dropped a door off an old 1953 Bedford Lorry that we are restoring in work and broke 2 bones In my right hand.....Hospital it was and they wanted to put it in plaster...MMMM no way I got to drive 130 miles and run a show....so it was simply bandaged up.
Yes it was painful all weekend but hey ho the show must go on.

Signs were put up at 7am and the pool was allready filled by the local fire brigade before we even had the hal set up....truly a first !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all I special mention must go the father in law,Jaydee,Chris Brown who helped me to put out 150 Tables and suffered me shouting at them at times ...THANKS GUYS

also my thanks to my Wife...(Mrs Stav) who not only allowed me out to play on my Birthday but it was also my anniversarry....OOPSY who FORGOT to get her a card...YOU GUESSED it ME...sorry Darling

Obvious thanks must go to Iain and Natsha of Component shop for allowing me to run the show with them

Tanks must also go to George and David's wifes for manning the door and of course George and david for manning the bring and buy ...They managed to raise well in excess of £350 for the RNLI...well done

The show itself was well attended by 14 clubs and 2 private individuals and boy oh boy were there some fabulous boats on display...Hms Fearless was a work of Art...incidentally he is supposed to be comming to Mayhem...I think Jaydee persuaded him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attendance was slightly up on last year bit sorry to report this but not by a great deal.....BUT the ones who attended have been full of praise by email fb and phone calls...so we must be doing something right...The Traders were very happy with what the had sold and ALL have pledged to come next year so I must admit so have the clubs.

I must yet again Thanks the lads and lasses who helped to collect all the tables after the end of the show THANKS.

I will in due course publish on here all the Trophy winners.

I will single out one person on this forum Jaydee...simply as I will never forget his face when I announced his J class won the Best Yacht in show.....deservidly so in my opinion...WELL DONE
