This will be delivered tomorrow  :-)
Compared to retail price in its day in USA the near 37 I've paid to import it seems dear BUT realistically not much over what you might expect to pay at a local model shop today

Looks like you nailed it with the ballast.

Two 5000mah batteries and quite a weight of lead shot so plenty of room for adjustment  :-))

I just upgraded my 4 yr old MacBook Air to the new one with Retina display today and the pictures on the screen are unbelievably better.

I've just done the first primer in between the rain.
No filler needed so far just high spots

I'm happy that the profile is to the plan

One more round of sanding and a final prime should see it ready for finishing

Aha! Now I know who owns the rescue boat that displayed  such a realistic wake at Wicksteed.

She's waiting patiently for July when the rain stops I hope.

Once the window openings are fixed I can spray the cabin and move on

A bit of filling required being my over critical self but done and now being left to fully harden.

So now I have to get serious about hull colours

Looking now at the sail cloth. The book says to brush Urathane (their spelling) into it. What product are Midwest refering to?
What is best for making the holes?
Thanks

Another task mastered  :-))
With Bill's contribution and google this is a mizzen or steadying sail to help keep the boat facing the wind while hauling.
For information sharing I used Halfords satin lacquer on the cloth but any would do. For rigging rather than punching holes I threaded the cord around with a darning needle. All the markings are marked in pencil before the lacquer

To be able to remove my working decks my servo also needs to be easy to take out.
I cut the mountings off this excellent mid size servo from hobbyking (6 of in my Shannon) and made a bracket that would hold the servo upright whilst the transom slopes away. The servo is CA'd to the brass.

I have a more than double thickness transom due to an error early in the build so this has been doubly rewarding now.
I used some shorts screws and screwed them in as far as I dare without breaking through then cut them down to a safe length.

Servo lead connection under sub deck.
Also good shot of my deck finish on SLEC lazered ply  :-))

Rudder travel set to 70 in servo settings

I mentioned earlier that the drawing templates for the display stand are terrible.

This took me an hour including making cardboard templates. I think I'll finish it with the silver grey deck stain as I have hardly used any .

Agree with you on the template for the stand.
You might find this interesting.

Thank you Bill

Fathers day here in Blighty  8)  unfortunately I discovered an error whilst re establishing the water line. The starboard spray bar was out of parallel so I've had to hack it off make a new one and resin coat again  :embarrassed:

Once I've regained my place I plan to paint below the waterline first and work upwards.

"The starboard spray bar was out of parallel"  ......I looked at that in the stern view of post #284, but assumed an optical illusion  :o

So anyway........Happy drinking that Elephants .....{***] Beer  :-))
