That's one done ready for Lathe. I've ordered another one of those tables from IKEA but delivery is about 4 weeks. I need a flexi LED lamp here I think

 ok2

This is where the advice being given is going wrong, there is no flexibility for common sense and everything is down to lowest common denominator. I was supposed to have a scratch repair done to my car bumper but that was cancelled. Yet the guy could have done the job in my driveway with no contact with me at all exceopt plugging in his extension lead which could easily have been disinfected. Payment would have been by bank transfer. He's lost the business for the duration.

The Government doesn't trust us and probably for good reason in many cases but they are going to have to be a bit cleverer if they are hoping to get the economy off the floor anywhere in the near future.

Common sense rules in my world and I'm satisfied I have a clear conscience having posed no risk to myself nor anyone else and keeping the economy going too. Some shops really are pulling out the stops to make it safe. I did of course discard the packaging and wash my hands as with all shopping now

That's the second fitted. The machines will move to the new island table leaving this length of bench available

Except, as things stand at the moment you are not allowed to drive to the shop for inessential shopping! And now they are talking about forbidding people to leave their homes even for exercise because of the activity of a 'small minority' flouting the rules. These people probably dont watch the news, read the papers or simply don't care etc. and they will carry on offending anyway so why penalise the rest of us?

Colin

As long as they give people a day or 36 hours notice as some of us need to move our bench and tools home to continue making a crust. Effing numpties and their 'It doesn't include me as I am special' attitude. We queue responsibly as little as possible for essential shopping and these idiots go for drives to the beach or to beauty spots like they are in a different world  <*<

Anyhow, I am dabbling in a bit of boat building for future model ships. I have two 45 foot pinnaces well underway and a 42foot launch roughed out ready for whittling. These will one day go on my Armoured Cruiser. Other than that, I have not done much apart from tidying off the work table as it was a state.

What is it called and do they do a wider type? I am thinking of the future when I might need a small bench to put between my mould presses as a working table.

In the picture above that is the £40 one that comes as BARE wood. I did the top with the IKEA oil.

This is the £80 one that I use in the middle of my room. The wood is pre treated.

Last night, the police pulled a taxi over outside ours, took a male from the front passenger seat and sat him in the rear of the police car and a female from the rear seat of the taxi and sat her in the rear of the police car as well behind the driver, no idea why of what for so they must have spotted them while patrolling. :police:

So what about dog owners? Will it be OK to take your dog out for excercise but not your child? Which should have priority?

Any recommendations? I'm considering this

Hi Andy  yes I can recommend these lights I got mine about 6 months ago nice bright led light dose not emit any heat at all so great if you are working close up, touch on/off, mine replaces my old angle poise lamp that used to get very hot after being on a while, I did pay £18 for mine from Argos but money well spent for me. and Argos are still delivering and have click and collect.

HI Taranis when i started this thread I hoped it would allow members to show what they are doing to keep sane during the lock down. So lets see what you are all up to in relation to out hobby.  We may be facing total lock down if this happens this forum along with others may be the only communication members have. I am sure we all other hobbies besides model boats so let know about them.

Yes, guilty as charged.  :embarrassed:

I'm still plugging away on this one with something else in the design stage.

More today
Using up off cuts of batten I made this floating shelf in three parts.
I only have 50mm long screws so I countersunk them further to get enough in the wall

Shelf is now oiled and will evolve over time to hold all manner of things for the machine tools.

The table is moved to accommodate Pillar and Miller. New table on the way for the lathe.

Everything is still accessible
