Might be of interest to some. Most probably know something about  the near postponement of D day due the weather forecast but perhaps not about who provided the  readings. A young postmistress on the coast of  county Mayo who took barometer and temperature readings every day which  despite Ireland being neutral were sent to us.  This documentary is being shown on PBS America ch 84 freeview this Saturday 1930hrs

Talking Pictures (UK) is currently showing Battle Stations (1956)

There is a scene as the US aircraft carrier ( USS Franklin (CV-13) / USS Princeton CV-37 ) is leaving for sea,
she bends up the aerials on the underside of a bridge.... is there a record of this really happening?
