I present to you the construction of the cabin. Everything is in 3mm CTP. You can see the swimming pool appear the left of the cabin. I'm building all the main blocks after which I'll do the details. I only work with photos . The exact dimensions of the contenairs allow me to determine the dimensions of all the structures of the boat. Lots of calculs are necessary.

Hi, PierreP
Just love your work; and an eye for the detail, are you working from plans or just pictures, keep up the great work.

Hello Kent I only work with photos. Neither Maersk nor the shipyards gave me plans.I also found videos of sailors sailing on the Maersk CUANZA the same ship.

How many containers will it hold? Will you print them?

Hello, it will hold around 900 containers. I am not going to print them, i am going to create a mold in order to use resin.

Pierre...

I could only find one other image of the MV Maersk Cubango [sister to Conakry] where she was semi-loaded, but with no containers over her stern quarter-deck

However it would certainly be a pity to hide all of your detailed stern winch gear under stacked containers

Looking forward to her continued build  :-))

Merry Christmas........Derek

Will the mould be of a block of containers to have the inside empty to save weight as solid resin containers will be a lot of top weight?

Really neat work Pierre, very nice indeed. Should look great when the paint is applied.

Cheers,

Ray.

Hello,
I will create empty containers in order make them as light as possible.

Just thinking out of the box.
If you mold stacks of containers, that will save weight, but the chances of the walls bending over time is higher.
If you printed stacks of containers, you could print internal supports to keep everything straight.
