Working the rails...
« on: December 11, 2007, 03:51:52 am »

You guys have a whole forum for Springers... We are trapped in one thread over at RCg.  :D

After a break, I think I built the hull and superstructure in August.. ::)
I have finally gotten in some time with the Springer build.

So with a lull in the work load I started in on the railings for my Springer...

Fantastic work Umi_Ryuzuki,

I seem to follow your work as you built a Tito at the same time as I constructed mine

Nice to see someone else working in brass are you going to have the mast automated , I have been looking at playing with hydrolicks for some time and made a few bits out of some old buggy shocks I fancy making a hi ab crane but don't have a boat to put it on.. anyway nice work.

Catengineman,

So are you planning a Dockwise ship build also?   ;)

Nice to see someone else working in brass are you going to have the mast automated ...

You don't know how tempting that is, but it is only a springer.
Kind of a dry run for a Damen 2810, but I really have to sort through my project priorities.
There are just too many plans, and mad ideas... :D

I have been doing some drawrings of an American type tug the type that the bridge lifts up on scissor lift for a springer but if its on the boat it has to work..

Hi Umi_Ryuzuki,

I am English but crap at putting what I mean into words,,

When I said I seem to follow your builds I was trying to say that I looked in on your posts and saw how you did the bits I was doing at the same time, then thought "why didn't I do it that way. It would have been easier"

Keep up the great work.

Just giving you a ribbing catengineman, I honestly don't expect everyone to attempt all
the crazy projects that get into my head...  :D

I have to say, when I build a scale model of the Damen 2810, I will make that mast operable and lighted.
As it is, I will probably light this one.

Here is the front stairs and the the uptakes..

Hi Umi, beautiful work!  O0 You really know how to spend a  lot of time making things look perfect in every way. Oh to have the patience myself. This will be  a really well laid out tug by virtue of the care taken so far. I can't wait to see the completed model. WOW

cheers

Hi Umi,

Well up to your usual standard!

Just to give me some hope...could you publish a piccy of something that went wrong?
 ;D

BTW Tito will be fully laptop controlled by New Years Day. (I saw a version of the interface programme wrapped up in Christmas paper)

I am sure all the flaws will show up once it is shot with primer...  ::)

Alan,

Let me know what Software you got. I located a USB 16 servo controller, and am giving it considerations...
I still haven't quite got a handle on how the two computers are talking...

A few more "railings",... The bulwarks are up.

A little creative cardboard patterns, then plywood cutting, and a little help from the "Shroud Calc" for the stern corners.

Looking really good Umi, will be interested in what it looks like when all painted and finished O0

Keep up the good work, faultless models as asways :)

Thank you.   :)

A little more work on the bulwark supports...

then hawser holes, and that should be it for railings.   8)

That is really nice workmanship, I'd like to do something like that for mine, but I'm afraid for now beyond my capabilities. :)
