Nice site DG. My first model was the Cresta when I was 7. I can still remember telling a school friend it was coming by post so it could have been from the mail order company mentioned earlier. The battery was a problem. Neither I nor my mother understood the dot so were looking for a 45v one.
Great story, Bee! What's worse, there WAS (indeed, still is) a 45v battery - I remember using one in a bulb flash unit around that era, and there are lots available if you Google them. They use them for VOMs and they are quite small batteries - you could easily have bought one by mistake....
The Cresta is likely to be the rarest of the EeZeBilt models - I don't think I have ever seen one on Ebay, and if one does come up it will probably be £50 +. There are Otters and Tritons selling at the moment, from someone who seems to have a stock of them, but they still cost a huge amount. If anyone buys an Otter (or any of the other boats I am missing) I would appreciate a scan of the die-cut parts......
