Adapter M-thread — Britisch Thread?
« on: August 25, 2009, 01:35:40 pm »

Hi,
I have a Macsteam boiler and I would like to combine it with a German (Regner) engine.
Does anyone know of adapters from M-size thread to Britisch size thread
This is what I had in mind:

Thanks for any advice
Cheers, A!H.

Hi,

No, I think you my be onto a loser there- my suggestion- buy a few M5 unions, buy a few 3/8 unions- file or turn down one side on each then silver solder the two resulting different halves together.

AH,

If you can find which tpi it is on the Imperial end, 32 or 40 tpi, and whether you need a 60 degree cone into the end of each one, or whether you just want it flat, I will knock you up a couple when I get back in the shop, hopefully tomorrow.

This is what I'm looking for. The adapter in the picture is from Regner, it's from M4 — M6.

I was wrong in my first post  :embarrassed: the difference between the 2 sizes would be a bit large . . .
The exact size should be: from M4 to 1/4'' 40tpi Imperial thread, with a 60 degree cone on the Imperial end only.
BTW, Bogs I've sent you a PM.
Cheers, A!H.
