1:144 Scale Warship Fittings
« on: April 21, 2006, 08:37:09 am »

Does anyone know if modern warship fittings are available in 1:144 scale?
I'm primarily looking for weapon/radar systems of US vessels.

I know it's an odd scale for warships, but I've never been one to conform!

Hi ya there CK

A Company that springs to mind, is a Company called 'White Ensign' I do have a catalogue of all the stuff they do, but I am trying to find it.  I have just tidied my workroom up but cannot find a thing  ;D However, I do know in this catalogue they do a lot of etched brass fittings for the 'smaller scale' models.  They do have a website, http://WhiteEnsignModels.com - their address is:
White Ensgn Models, South Farm, Snitton, Ludlow, Shropshire SY8 3EZ - if you can find their telephone number they are extremely helpful, and quick to supply once you have ordered from them.

Its amazing what you can find on a tin (just found their address etc., on the paint tin I am using).

Hope this helps

A lot of the american lads build in 1/144 , but they are what is called battlers, there ships are fitted with guns that fire small bore pellets, they sink each other, thats the name ofthe game, the models are very semi scratch, not detailed, SWAMPWORKS went out of bussiness a few months ago, they sold most of the fittings the battlers used. ron h

Thanks chaps,

I'll give White Ensign a call on Monday.

Incidentally, i'm building a 1:144 scale model of a Tarawa Class assault ship.  Just to be different

Found this on the web:

Only a small selection of fittings, unfortunately.

The auto censor seems to be a bit sensitive, try putting an asterisk between the letters of the "word not allowed".

Just noticed this "helpful" little feature on another thread.

Why don't we try and see how many words we can get blocked....................purely for "xxxxx" and giggles!

I reckon it's picking up on the *F* and the *C*K* but it's too stupid to realise the other letter is missing. That's whiy it threw out my *F"L*I*C*K*.

Communicating like this makes it sound even ruder!

Let's try it: My model of the German Sail Training Ship Gorch Fock was trampled by a flock of sheep and there was only a fleck of paint left!
