1:72 scale figures
« on: October 16, 2009, 06:53:22 pm »

Hello,

I am looking for some 1/72 scale Royal Navy figures from 1939-1944. I am working on a Canadian Tribal Class destroyer and would like some figures.

Thank you for the help.

There are several options -
The cheapest is the Revell 1/72 WWII German Navy pack - 51 figures in 15 poses for £5.87 or less. These are soft plastic figures, some will be unusable for Canadian others can be converted. On another forum I've seen some converted into model Royal Navy figures.

Gunthwaithe Miniatures do a small range of white metal figures, sold in packs of 3 figures for £5.25, These are available from -

Heckler & Goros do 2 packs of 3 British figures for £7.45. They also do some American gun crew figure packs for the Revell Gato kit which could be converted. These are available from -

Gunthwaite do them, but they're quite expensive - http://www.gunthwaite.co.uk/Our%20Range%20of%20Figures.htm

It's a shame you aren't doing a 17thC warship - http://www.creativemodels.co.uk/hat_figures_british_marines_sailors_double_set-p-2997.html or a German WW2 destroyer - http://www.creativemodels.co.uk/revell_172_german_navy_figures-p-12590.html

These people have 1/72nd scale coming out of their ears - I looked through 657 items to find these - and if a cheap plastic 48 piece set exist I suspect Creative Models will know where to find them....

Thank you both for the reply, that was very helpful.

My grandfather served on the HMCS Haida, this is the ship that is almost completed.

Any other suggestions for some 1:72 fittings, railings etc.

Thanks
