Hi everyone....
Now' I know there are some very clever people using this forum who build model boats and who are also very good at it. Your'e now thinking that's me......, well if it is, can you answer the following query for me?
Is there a formula or program with which we can use to determine the size of both prop & rudder and also where to position these items on the underside of a model boat hull. For instance I have a Riva model boat 26" long which was originally built for display, but has been factory produced for RC installation. So its more or less the same as the display model but with the hull formers cut to a bare minimum to allow for easy RC installation. The construction is plank on frame, and actually very light in weight. It's obviously a planing hull , BUT WHERE DO I PLACE THE RUDDER AND PROPSHAFT to obtain the desired results?
Does a program exist where we can input 1) Type of hull, 2) Length of hull 3) All up weight of the model and so on to get a set of data which would tell us where to position the prop, prop angle etc. I know its a big question but there must be something out there. One of you marine engineers must know the answer.......
Many thanks
Paul
