South Carolina Branch Harbor Pilots

Via email to Mayhem...

Hello my name is Manning Harvey, I am a employee and a launch operator for the Charleston, South Carolina Branch Harbor Pilots. I have been operating their 75 foot Charleston Pilot Boat for 10 years and have decided to build a scratch model of the boat for my grandson (really for my grandson and me). Anyway I have gotten the hull built and it is very big and very heavy. I want to make her RC. I have no clue where to start in this process. So far everything has come from my head the lumber yard and a marine supply store. What do I have to do to put electric RC motor and steering controls? Where do I start? I have never done anything like this before. See attached pictures of the boat. Thank you, any help I can get would be appreciated.
