Thanks so much for the input regarding Norwich Model Boat Club. I would like to introduce myself as I have only just joined the site, I mainly use Model Warships UK which is where we promoted the Event in more detail. The event was also announced in the local press and radio station. I joined the Club in 2008 and I was recently appointed as Vice-Chairman of NMBC in November 2010, all events for the 2011 Regatta list were agreed following the AGM by committee members. It's great to have as much input from interested parties regarding the 2012 regatta list. Please tell us what you would like, we welcome your support and attendance to this fantastic pond in Norwich. As soon as the AGM in November this year has been held, we will give ample notice of the events agreed for 2012 in order for you all to plan your diaries. We all have busy schedules and I know that planning is the key!
In the last 6 months I have been heavily involved in trying to take the Club forward, with a positive view and approach to all Club members and the general public. We have been in contact via phone, email and in person with the Council and English Heritage to ensure that as a Club we obtain improved access to the pond for all those who wish to sail their models. Hopefully, planning permission will be granted in the coming weeks. NMBC has been trying to gain easier access from the Council for the past 15 years, thankfully, with more resilience than ever, we may now be getting permission to do so at last!
I am passionate about this Club, and I am working hard to ensure that we enthuse all the Club members, visitors and the general public. We want to attract the young and old to take up a fabulous hobby that can last for many years....and bring hours of enjoyment. I welcome all comments and ideas so please send me a PM if you wish and I promise I will respond to each and every question or idea about the Club...however off the wall your ideas may be! It's a Club I am proud to be able to be a part of and influence in a positive way. Your suggestions will be put forward at the monthly committee meetings.
I look forward to hearing from you.....
Many Thanks, Richard
