Correct prop for flower corvette.
« on: September 28, 2011, 08:36:44 am »

Well just been playing around with my 1/72 flower class corvette and I noticed that the prop shaft seems slightly bent, so I'm gonna have to replace that (don't know if it's just the inner shaft or the outer aswell) and while I do this I thought I might aswell make sure it's got the correct prop, it's currently got a 4 blade brass prop not sure of the diameter. Also does anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement rudder as it's currently fitted with a huge generic brass rudder.

3 Bladed brass prop, cant remember the size but 40 or 45mm or largest you can fit in.

For rudder I bought one of these,  http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/boat_rudders.html  and epoxied plasticard to both sides to form rudder shape required.

Thanks for the quick reply! That's the same rudder as currently fitted except mine looks more likely to be the medium size, I don't suppose you could take some measurements of your rudder for me please? No idea what size it should be, current 1 just looks too big and I know it's not right. Also the rudder turns too far and the boat stops turning so I'm not sure what to do about that?

I bought the model second hand earlier this year and there's quite a few bits that are broken, is it possible to get replacement guns? I've still got the mounts for them but the guns are either completely missing or broken. Thanks, tempted to give it a respray like yours dicky (I like the red hull on yours) but my painting skills are worse than rubbish lol

Cant get to boats at the moment as stairlift is being serviced.

Cant give dimensions but you can work it out proportionally

Thanks for your help! Now just got to wait for payday next week and get the bits on order, though I have very unreliable Internet at the moment, hence not being able to search for pieces myself!

Thanks again.
