RNLB DORIS AND HARRY
« on: November 15, 2011, 09:08:09 am »

I have searched for this "D" class boat officially named "RNLB Doris and Harry" on the web, but can't find where she is at the moment,

She was bought and paid for by Harry Patch the last "fighting Tommy" of WW1 in June 2007 not long before he died, and was named after himself and a lady he had befriended in the care home that they both were residents in.

The proceeds came from the royalties of the book he wrote about his memoirs of fighting in World War 1.

I was thinking of adapting one of my D class moulds and making a model of her.........Does anyone know which station she is based at please.

cheers, for any help.

She is an IB1 (updated D class) D665 and has been in the relief fleet since naming in 2007.
