Does anyone have any photographs of the fittings on the canopy, especially the safety line loop and the mast crutch. Specifically, I'm trying to work out what colour they should be.

Cheers, Andrew

Here is mine, she is looking a bit worse for wear as she has attended 23 shows so far this (summer) including 4 lifeboat days. I have two Lifeboat days to go to this weekend, at opposite ends of Cornwall,  Sennen Cove on Sunday, and Bude on Bank Holiday monday then one more Lifeboat special day at the St.Ives Boathouse on September 15th.
Any mayhemmers in the area pop in and say hello!

Wish we could, but it's a bit far away for us! I remember seeing a photo on the cover of Model Boats of the... um... 'unusual' crewman on the foredeck, and was disappointed to find only that one photo. Is she scratch built, or did you use a fibreglass hull? I'll put up a picture or two of mine tomorrow, when I can get her outside for a decent photo.

Here's mine, built as Bassett Green when she was at Poole. She's the only Liverpool I've seen with antifoul.

Hi andrew........Made the supports out of 5mm square section mahogany strip..........I set up a jig for the length of the uprights so that all were exactly the same and cut them off. then I cut the lengths of the supports to fit where the supports were marked on the plans.
then came the long but enjoyable job of making minature cross halving joints for all four corners, before gluing them up.
this area is one part of Dave Metcalf's kit that has set him back, as I suggested for the kit that he laser cuts the supports out as one peice from ply, but there were a number of lengths ( as to fit to the outer edge of the bench, I had to leave a section onto the back of each support sothat the outer "rim" was the same as the bench measurement.
in the photos you can just see the joints and the extra length to go onto the rea=r which mates up with the inner skin of the hull side.

Hi Andrew, sorry I haven't answered before! I actually don't make any of my models.I am ashamed to say that I buy them, from various sources, and then do any obvious alterations to change them into the particular boat.My models are all those that were based at Cornish Ports.I neither have the skill or the cofidence to build them myself.I do add radio controls to those that don't already have them, and such things as working lights, radar etc.
The unusual crewmember on my Liverpool Class,is becoming quite famous! He is of course "an old seadog!" The Liverpool is my favourite of all my models, even though I have at last recently obtained a part built Tamar.Again, all my models are in 1/12th scale, and I just find it very rewarding to show some of them at Rally's and Lifeboat Days all round Cornwall,Devon and Somerset, raising funds for the R.N.L.I. I have so far this year raised £2300.00, a total of which I am very proud, but I apologise for my self praise!

I was thinking just the other day that the Caister Liverpool would be an interesting and unique subject...

Also, does anyone know if the deck was painted grey when they were built?

A bit of an update on my Liverpool, I have to admit I did lose interest briefly, but I've got back to finishing her off. She's almost done, I reckon I'll be another couple of months or so before she can take to the water.

I think the only working features are the folding windscreen and the collapsible mast. There are a few bits that aren't finished yet like the bulkhead, the port bench and the belting, but they should be finished fairly soon. Looking at these photos I really should have varnished the canopy more, and this light really doesn't do it any justice. There are 7 commercial bits on her so far, everything else is scratch. I don't suppose anyone has any photos of a post-George Elmy bulkhead, before the radio was moved?
