Yes we do have bank access, its just like a normal stone beach for most of it, but there are a few places where you can not get access to the water, for a good 150 yards ( a built up walk way with a stone wall to the sea below

Next time me and my gf go for a walk down there i will take some pics to show what its like, this is why we really do need someone on the water, because if a boat had a problem along this part, you would never be able to get it back from the land

A good place to start from woud e the little sailing club at the bottom of locksway road, theres a pub with a carpark right by the shorline so we could park there and start right at the waters edge :)

would also be good to have somebody with transport at the end to be able to drop people back to their cars at the start point ! ive only driven into the car park once but didnt get out of the car due to the inclement weather . its not an area ive been for a walk around yet

ben i think offshore had a date in mind for june 9 th or 10 th as it has good height of water ( 4.4 m & 4.6m ) and the tide is at full 1605 sat or 1654 on the sunday . as im normally sailing in the harbour i can normally sail upto two hours each side of the full tide , which would give us a start time of approximatly 1400 hrs . jon

The time is set by which every date we use because of the tides

umm i guess if we say 9,10th june try to be down there at 1330? Come if you want, dont if not lol  :-) its hard to get people to sign upto it on here because some people will drop out and others might fancy just turning up

Got a couple of yachts could use, but will probs use my mfa spearfish if i bring a boat, if not then will either be in my kayak or air deck tender :)

I like the spearfish because it copes with all weathers and if very good in a chop  :-)

ben , i think a chase boat type event would require you having some form of public liability insurance , it would therefore be easier to follow your model on foot along the shoreline , with possibly one rescue vessel on stand by " just in case "  jon

thats what i meant but if there is a big turn out we mite require more than one safety boats   i do have a plan if there are enough participants       to have one kayak   and a bigger boat   the kayak would scout ahead slightly   look out for slightly under water obstructions and also if means be a quick response vessel   and the bigger one mainly for rescuing and brining the boats back to shore

a bigger rescue boat would ideally need two people to operate it safely , one helms person ,one to retreive models as required ! it then also has the possibility of running out of water when the tide has turned .

one step ahead of you     i can man the big boat myself either with paddles or motor   with a boat hook and a net       and an anchor so once the hook has the boat   i can chuck the anchor or drift ondepending how heavy the boat is and pick it up  if any one dosen't want  me touching there boat they can put a strong fix point in and i can tow it in    with me in my boat the boat draws only 12/13 inchs drought   and i have waders and have walked out on the mud there before (not on my own) and the boat has a sleek hull so if it comes to it abandon ship and pull her to the shore considering she shouldnt actually be that far out    or   tie it up     and come back just before the water reaches the boat

if its a massive problem, can just use my kayak it only draws about 3 inches  at the very most, its a wide beamed one very stable, ovb someone could always wear waders? most of the shoreline we are going to be using is only 4 feet deep at high water
