Here's the latest state of the model.

She has a new back end with another set of transfers.  Just needs the lens bezels to complete.

As I've come to a stall in the Seabex construction, I thought I might finish off the Fire engine.

To this end, I have wired up the lighting and connected all the flashing sequences.  Some were moving out of sync with the camera click, but this will give you an idea.

Gorgeous model Ken. It's work like this that keeps beckoning to me with its finger of enticement! I would love to do period lorry cabs from the fifties, sixties and seventies but time and money are devoted already to floaty wargamey things.

Brilliant stuff.

Thank you for the comments.  Even my Wife likes this one.  Pretty, I guess.

I have another new Tamiya but this time a scale 1:14 Volvo truck.  It was all built without spraying so that I could get a working  'frame'.  I'm now going through the options of  'what to turn it into'.  The idea being that I will have a working chassis and rolling stock on which to build something.   %)  ( next project lined up for when the Seabex is finished  !)

Cheers

Hi Carl.

It was in the pipeline but stalled when I couldn't find the Revell kit.  It's sort of disappeared from the shops.

Your drawings are helpful but nothing beats measuring and calculating from the real thing.  Have you still got your unmade one.   :D   :D   :D  nod wink.

Yes that's unusual.  Not pretty,  but a mechanical challenge.   ok2

Taking Ned's idea a little further (obsessive Moi? %% ) you could crumple up small bits of paper, make small tins from alluminium tube and even make milk bottles etc from clear resin, or just cut up cookie/cake trays into odd shapes such as from the corners, and then you have lots of recycling materials.

In Crewkerne, we have a removals van style one with modified end and sides with openings for operators to throw stuff.

I have Ken - you are quite welcome to borrow it for measuring should you want to mate  :-))  I will get around to building it myself one day - looking forward to it actually - but the ferry is taking precedence at the moment.

I've made quite a few trucks now.  An expensive hobby indeed.

The trailers are even dearer, so I usually scratch build these.  Here's a few example of what I've been up to.      :}

Here you go, Ken...latest progress on the lowloader. I decided against using X9 on the trailer, so I acquired a second quality tug hull for £20. Trailer bed is now planked, ramps removed, marker lights and flashing beacon installed and working.

Next up is to give the hull a coat of spray red primer, and make the lash downs.
