1:12 figurines
« on: August 29, 2012, 12:10:09 pm »

Hi guys, I'm trying to find some info on George Turners 1:12 scale figurines but can't make his website work for me, every other section opens but the figurine part just wont't open up for me, is this a problem with the site or just my computer?

Might that be Adrian from Speedline Models? I checked his site, they look awesome for a lifeboat but not sure how they would go on a tug, has anyone out there got any ideas?

Very disapointed this morning, turns out they dont sell outside the UK due to crazy bank fees for dealing with foreign currencies <:(

If it is one thing you can fault British Business for is the lack of sales savvy. I can order a $10.00 item from a supplier here in this city & it will be delivered to my door in less than 2 hours, FREE. The company in question should be working on a shipping agreement with some company to handle that side of business for them. When I buy from U/K I have a currency exchange company handle the payment for me. I am charged a small fee on top of the currency cost, the money arrives at my suppliers bank account, I never see or touch it, simple. I hate to say it but the Americans are the best, I am sure they could sell ice to Eskimo's, That is poor service to you Mermod, Mick B.

If you are in the EU then you can do a bank transfer to the UK and there should be able to pay all the fees including his (totals about €6)

Mick, understand what you say....but Adrian Clutterbuck is not in business to sell them.............he sells purely and simply as a side line and ABSOLUTELY ALL the profits after casting and materials ALL  goes to the RNLI via the Lifeboat Enthusiast Society........so any extra for posting abroad comes out of the profits for the RNLI..........Adrian charges absolutely nothing for his time effort labour and packaging.........so a little unfair for anyone to class him as a business.

just thought I'd let those know who can't get his stuff abroad.....that is the reason behind his decision.

Very well explained Neil, thank you, I hope he sells lots, the RNLI can always use the money. Someone over there might be able to purchase them for Mermod & send them on to him, it would be easy for him to put the cash in an envelope & pay that way, I have done this with bits from the U/K, just a suggestion, Mick B.
