anyone able to help please?
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:00:12 pm »

Well,I've had an absolute nightmare trying to get the pictures here and every time its failed as "too big" it has deleted everything and have had to rewrite every time. This must be the tenth time of trying.Computers definitely not my thing.Anyway fingers crossed here are the pictures of my "project".The problem i have is knowing nothing at all about it.I saw it laying in a woodworkers .storeroom and took a fancy straight away.It is in dire need of restoration. It was definitely a kit at some point as there are numbers on the underside of some of the parts. It has a fibreglass hull, only one of the two masts are present i think, the deck is ply and the rest of the woodwork is balsa and ply.If there is anyone who can help me to identify this vessel i will be able to start the long road to making her good again.Thank you in advance, very much appreciated.

A read of  http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=23.0
should help.  The maximum size is 600*480, 150Kb.
The first 2 images exceed this, bot in overall size on screen, and by file size.  Reducing the image so that both dimensions are within limits should at the same time bring the file size within limits, and that should solve the problem.  If I do a considerable write, before submitting I usually copy it, maybe even paste the text into notebook, so I can get it back if disaster strikes.
Hopefully someone can offer some useful help with the actual boat - it looks like it should restore into a really handsome sailer on anybody's water.

Grim1,
When you are writing a message and what to add an externally hosted image, just click the 'Insert Image' icon - which is above the first emoticon (smiley face) and insert the link for your image between the two set of brackets that will appear in your message.
That is all I have done with your links....

Hi, this is an "INGA IV". The kit was produced by several companies the last being Wedico but sadly it is no longer available. It was a boat I first saw in the old Radio Modeller magazine 30+ years ago and is what got me wanting a model boat. I built mine quite a few years ago now but I'll help if I can. The hull and some plans are available from Kingston mouldings you might be able to get just the plans from them. http://www.kingstonmouldings.com/pdingaiv.htm
